the weekend in photos

during the ferry ride to the mainland on saturday, my daughter and i had some fun with the camera. she is such a model ;)





we have got sooo much snow now and it is still snowing. i measured it to about 50 centimeters or more!







and a little late night photographs. i was up watching a movie until midnight and picked up the camera to have some playtime before bed.


when i turned around...

today i am preparing for my birthday tomorrow! yay!

10 on thursday ~ note to self edition

note to self:

1. chocolate is not dinner.
2. the world will not collapse if the house is messy.
3. allow yourself to play.
4. spend more time without tv.
5. list creative thoughts, otherwise they´ll be forgotten.
6. stop spending money.
7. not many things get done while couchsitting.
8. have more patience with dixon.
9. care less about what people think of you.
10. laugh and be grateful that there is a house to be messy in, with a tv, that we do have food other than chocolate, money to spend, time for creativity and couchsitting, for dixon who is love itself.

monday and a plead for some advise.

well, how did that happen? monday again already? but this time it seems like i haven´t been to work for ages, since i was home sick last week. my husband says that i am always sick, and when i think about it i do get sick days alot...right before christmas i had a head cold and not to mention the big kidney infection! i really need to build up my resistance. but i guess that working with 1-3 year olds don´t help...
i am doing a bit better though and i was able to go in to work today.

my daughter is having the whole week of school this week and while browsing a newspaper a few weeks back i stumbled over an add for circus school this week! yay! i talk to her and she said she wanted to go and i signed her up. her first day was today and tomorrow i am able to take her so, watch out for a circus photo update :)

on valentines day a year ago a friend of mine had her second round of twin boys and i had the pleasure to be the photographer at their first birthday party yesterday. i loved it and i am thinking really hard on doing this on a more regular basis...this is my second photoshoot in other peoples homes and it has worked out really good both times...but i am so clueless on what to charge etc...do you have any advise? ofcourse it would be a dream to be able to get paid to do something that i love and comes easy for me. hm...




speaking of valentines day, last year me and my husband had a real love day doing fun stuff just the 2 of us. this year we had a lovely day at home, laying around watching the olympics and we are still very much in love :)

scrapbook saturday

i used a digital frame set that i think was a freebie from designer digitals called 3 photo challenge sampler by katie pertiet, but i cannot find the link right now. i arranged my photos in the frames and then i just printed it out.




i while ago i cut my hair into a mohawk and it was so freeing! i have always been very self consious and come on hair is important! the freeing part: that i really did it because i wanted to do it and i didn´t care about what other people would think. it was big for me, trust me! so the note to self is to do these things more often. note: if you saw the dog layout below you can see that i used a pink heart ribbon ontop. it was self adhesive and i have used the backing on this layout = the brown hearts!



my cat sally just loves when we leave some paper bags out for her to play with. i made room for some "white space" on this page because i wanted it to be supersimple.



my sadie baby. even though we have had her for ages, i still have to just stop sometimes to just look at her being all cute :) i wanted little to no journaling on this, because i had no actual story, just that i love her so much. i used the cute my minds eye "i love you" tag and attached it to a mat for emphasis. i used some bits and pieces from my desk to make the rest.



i had so much fun with this! first i turned my photos into polaroids using the superfun poladroid tool. then i opened a WORD document and arranged the photos on the page. i added the title and printed it all out. then...i embellished the page and added some journaling.

february project: hearts on the door

during a sick day this week i made this cutie door hanger. i used a white foam heart and wrapped brown yarn around and around and around...you get the picture :) i then made 3 tiny crochet hearts (pattern here). i simply attached the hearts to the bigheart by tying them to it. such a simple project, even for a little older kids maybe?!

a little randomness

during some internet surfing i stumbled over this photobooth site and since i don´t have photobooth in my computer i am certain that i will visit this place a few more times :)




i have been home sick the entire week and i was laying in bed flipping through magazines...these are 2 of the pages i loved...



we have almost nothing in pink in our home, but i do love these items.



and a cabinet like this would be filled immediatly here :)

during this past weekend i spend some time with my nieces and newphew...♥





they are so beautiful!

i have been in bed most the whole day today and when my daughter came home from school, we did her homework and then had some popcorn and crafted a bit. which always makes me very happy. my daughter wrote a valentine for a boy she likes ;)



i made a banner for my craft room.




and for valentines day i made a simple lovebomb kit :)



simply punched paper hearts and 3d dots on the back.

ok, my daughter is bugging me for the computer so i will have to go!

just a reminder!

today is february the 10th and i am doing 2010´s second 10 on the 10th! are you with me?

happiness in a jar

my husbands 35th birthday was this past weekend. we celebrated with a family/friends dinner and just had a good time, nothing fancy. i bought him fresh flowers for the day and i realized that buying him flowers is almost as good as getting flowers myself :) you know, i bought the flowers that i did want to have in the home :)
at first i just quickly put them in a tall vase to get them in water. but then yesterday i decided i wanted to get more out of one bouquet of flowers = devide them into several small containers! and there is how i got this happiness in a jar :)



it makes me crazy happy to see this on my dining room table! during summer i always have flowers in from my garden, but since we have had snow since before christmas, i am guessing the garden flowers will take their time this year :) to have fresh flowers inside this february house is just pure joy right now!

scrapbook saturday ~ hybrid edition

for these 2 layouts i used bits and pieces from the february digital kit from 2peas.



my big little girl! i used little bits and pieces from the table for this one and the sewingmachine!



i printed the free download calendar from here and made a mosaic at bighugelabs.com with a few of my wintery photos i took during january. i then cut the mosaic up and added a glue dot to the back. for the mini garland i used my mini circle punch to punch out from misc patterned papers, cut the circles in half and placed the halfs as a garland (i have yet to sew along the garland), embellish and voila, done.

february projects ~ and a giveaway!

happy february friends! i love february, can it be beacause it is my birthday month?! maybe :) to celebrate that this lovely month has just begun i´d like to share a little project with you.



have you ever tried some needle felting before? it is so much fun and a fast project. you´ll need some needle felting foam, but i used regular foam as in matrass foam. and you´ll need a felting needle. the needle is kinda long with a wooden handle and the actual needle has small torns on it and when you stick it down through the wool it takes it (the wool) with it down in the foam. i hope that makes any sense!



you can make any shape ofcourse, but for this project i used a heart shaped cookie cutter to help me form my felt heart.



i have learned that if you add a little piece of wool as you go it makes the best felting. i also keep sticking down the needle for quite some time, so that the shape gets firm.



voila! i put a pin on the back and will use it as a pin on my jacket!
