pre-valentine post #1

ok, so i am a big romantic, but i live with a husband that thinks i am high maintenance, which i have proven time and time again that i am not! i was almost teary eyed last year when i acctually bought this lovely. small, small everyday things...i have a project for this, but that is another post ;)

this post is a pre-valentine give away kinda post :) in a previous post i quickly mentioned a little love-giveaway if anyone noticed! with the larger scraps of paper i was talking about in mentioned post, i have made small valentine booklets for you! last year i made a type of these (scroll down a bit) it was a simple little book were i stated a few reasons i love my husband and my daughter. simple things like: his hugs, her smile etc. so, for the giveaway i made two little books where i have embellished the front and the left side of the spreads and you can add your journaling on the right side.

here are some of the pages inside the books.

the game is easy; just leave a comment and add a link to a cute valentine project and i will draw two of you by the weekend!

i have been enjoying to make stuff in my december journal! it is fun to just add stuff here and there whenever i feel like it. yesterday i made an entry about making christmas candy (yum!) and i thought i´d share a quick how-to for you all:

1 dl cream
1 dl baking syrup
1 dl sugar
0,5 dl almonds
butter or margarine
tiny paper baking tins

put out your tiny paper baking tins on a tray (about 30-40 of them). Mix the cream, baking syrup and suger in a container that you can later heat up in the microwave. Run the micro for 5 minutes on full effect. Chop the almonds in the meantime. Take the container out of the mirco and stir. Then run the microwave for 4 more minutes. Mix in the almonds and then quickly pour the mixture into the baking tins.
I use to put the tray in the fridge for a while so that the candies get hard.

oh, and i am sorry mindi, this is nothing for you right now ;)

Ps. i am very very sorry about the crappy photos!

a new mini

yesterday morning my daughter bursted into tears before going to school. She was so afraid of being late and getting yelled at by the teacher! (we are having a talk with the said teacher tomorrow!). We felt bad for her having such a bad start of the day, so we planned on having a picnic on the beach. Raining? Yup, you bet! It was lovely :) We had such a special family moment! After eating our picnic at the beach me and my daughter took a walk down the beach to search for nice stones (we are both collectors!). We found a very cool spot under a tree where she decided on making a sand castle!
So, i was just itching to make a minibook with the photos we took! The other day i finally scored on some bookrings, so i used 2 to make this book.

I love the look of scalloped edges and wanted to use some in this project. I don´t acctually own so many scalloped papers, but i had one diecut that i used as a template to make more :) So i picked out some papers and got cutting.

one of my favorite photos ♥

As i print all my photos at home, i sometimes have to use photo paper with some kind of print on the backside. I used a few circle stickers to hide those prints here.

This project is a hybrid one. I printed a few things on transperency as this frame. The frame is in a digital kit by Rhonna Fharrer. I opened the frame in PS and resized it and added my text before printing it out.

Here is one of the scalloped papers i cut out of my patterned paper stash. The little birdie stamp is a favorite and i think it is Heidi Grace (?)

This right hand photo might be considered as the Christmas 08 card :)

The weekdays here are from this free digital kit.

I love the result, but i love the memory of this wonderful afternoon more :)

I just ♥ to have a stack of new photos on my desk! They are just calling my name, to come and scrapbook them :) And in my best lack of character manner, i did!

I was dying to finnaly make a minibook. So i used some of the photos from our june and july to put together a little book called: no summer without... I just simply punched holes in the left corner of my photos of things i really see as my summer! Like strawberries, flowers, walks down to the lake etc. Now that I am finsihed, i will add a little list of things like english TV mysteries which i have no photos of. As the title page is a yummy flower photo i wanted it to show. I cut a piece of a page protector so that i could write a title and still show the first photo.

Then ofcourse I had to record how happy these two were to see eachother when my daughter came home from a grandma vacation! The layout didn+t really turn out the way i would have liked, but my eyes are drawn right to the photo anyway so i guess that doesn´t matter :)

This weekend we spend some time lounging in the backgarden hammock. I snapped quite a few photos of these two. When i edited the photos later that night, it just hit me. They are my life. They truly are. I am so happy to see them getting along and enjoying their time together. It makes me happy to see those photos and i smile inside :) They are quirky the pair of them. And they are always making inside jokes and pick on eachother so that the other one plays grumpy.

That is that, but i have to just show you the link to my latest creative post. It seems to be published on the wrong place!

peace out.
